Germany wants to legalize cannabis

Germany wants to legalize cannabis before the end of the year and allow sale in associations to members. In Germany, the use of cannabis products in the private sphere must be permitted. Germans will soon be allowed to keep up to three cannabis plants at home. They will also be allowed to have a maximum of 25 grams of cannabis in their pocket. The German parliament must first approve.

The German ministers Karl Lauterbach (Public Health) and Cem Özdemir (Agriculture) refrain from introducing special cannabis shops such as a coffee shop in the Netherlands. In special associations later the sale to members must be legal. The German ministers want to test the idea in a number of regions first.
